Legal guardianship, clearly explained.

The court order defines my responsibilities. We discuss the next steps together.

Authority matters and social benefits

Clarify responsibilities. Keep track of deadlines.

I organise correspondence, coordinate with public authorities and support the clarification of applications and decisions within the assigned responsibilities.

  • Jobcenter and Employment Agency: living costs and current benefit matters
  • Social Welfare Office: basic income support, reduced earning capacity and care-related benefits
  • Residence matters: documents and authority communication within the assigned scope

Healthcare matters and self-determination

Your wishes guide the next steps.

I coordinate necessary matters with doctors, clinics, care services and insurers and include your expressed wishes in the process.

  • Health insurance: membership, cover and required documentation
  • Coordination: doctors, hospitals, care, rehabilitation and therapies
  • Self-determination: recording wishes and bringing them into discussions

Financial affairs and asset management

Create transparency. Organise essential payments.

I structure accounts, payments, claims and liabilities and document necessary steps within the assigned financial responsibilities.

  • Accounts and payments: rent, utilities and other essential expenditure
  • Claims and debts: overview, correspondence and structured clarification
  • Income: pensions and social benefit matters

Housing and suitable support

I coordinate housing matters and suitable support within the responsibilities assigned by the court. Practical care and household work are provided by the relevant services.

What legal guardianship does not include

Legal guardianship means legal representation and organisation. Personal care, transport services and representation as a lawyer are separate services.

No personal care or household work; suitable services can be organised when this is part of the assigned responsibilities. No transport service, shopping service or accompaniment to every appointment. No representation as a lawyer in criminal or civil proceedings; specialist legal advice may need to be arranged.
